Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic we sadly had to cancel the original final conference plans in Brussels to help slow the spread and protect our guests. However, that does not stop us from holding it online.
After 4 years of WiseGRID, a three award-winning project under the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Commission, the partners will highlight the main project results and showcase how the WiseGRID tools can enable a decentralised energy system where all market players, including cooperatives and small and medium-sized enterprises can equally participate in the energy market.
Coordinated by GRUPOETRA and developed by 21 partners across Europe, WiseGRID created a set of 9 smart applications that have been tested and demonstrated under real-life conditions in 4 pilot sites in Belgium, Greece, Italy and Spain.
The Final Conference will be held online and will include an overview of the project achievements, a panel discussion and presentations on the tools to promote discussion amongst participants.
In this international conference, we will gather representatives from different stakeholders such as cooperatives, distribution operators, EU level policy makers, universities and technology companies.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at the Final Conference!
As the trends of smart grids, internet of things, and environmentally-conscious energy systems rise, it is important to see how these topics can come together to be mutually beneficial. The European Commission’s Horizon 2020 funding supports projects leading innovative research in new areas of technology and tackling societal challenges, with WiseGRID fitting comfortably between the two, at a time when clean energy and climate action are topics rising up on the European agenda.
The results from this project will directly influence how citizens and experts will go forward in designing the energy systems of the future.
The event will take place on Tuesday April 21st online.
Participation is free of charge but registration is mandatory since the number of participants is limited. Registration is on a first come, first served basis, so be sure to register if you would like a space.

Following the successes of our final conference last month, WiseGRID is slowly reaching its end point. We have learned so much about building the smart grid of the future, and have developed 9 strong tools to bring in a large range of stakeholders. The projects implemented in the pilot sites have taught us how to engage citizens in the energy transition...
